An anonymous, but well-known local landowner in central Victoria has generously donated land for a retirement village near the Castlemaine Golf Club at rural Muckleford, 127km northwest of Melbourne.
A working group comprised of local residents has since been formed to progress the development, which they say will be an “affordable community” for older people living in the area.
“A well-known local farming family has offered the land on the basis that we develop it as a retirement village,” Group member, Ian Braybrook (pictured), said.
The working group is hoping the Council will expedite the rezoning process, but expect delays as the local authorities continue to grapple with the challenges of COVID-19.
