Ms Pryor replaces Michael Urwin, who has been in the role of Chair for six years and with the Victorian Not For Profit for nine, and has helped navigate Benetas through a complex and challenging period.
The former headmaster will remain on the board for another 12 months.
Formerly a lawyer, Julia Pryor is currently Chief Risk Officer, Wealth at AMP.
She has more than 20 years' experience in risk and compliance management, and corporate governance in the financial services sector. She is also experienced at leading businesses through transformational periods and regulatory reform, making her an ideal candidate for the role as the new Aged Care Act takes effect from 1 July next year.
Julia said, “I am honoured to be taking on the role of Chair of Benetas, and look forward to continuing and building on the good work achieved by Michael, Sandra Hills and Benetas during Michael’s tenure as Chair."
Ms Pryor has been on the board of Benetas since 2019.
