Not for Profit Brightwater Care Group is holding an open day to show off its new campus, Brightwater Central, in the inner Perth suburb of Inglewood.
Brightwater Central includes the aged care, disability and retirement services provider’s Head Office, training spaces, and Research Centre on the ground floor.
The rebuilt aged care home, Brightwater Inglewood, will open upstairs later this year. It is for 128 residents, and the site sits within gardens while the home overlooks parklands and a nearby golf course.
Brightwater Inglewood is designed with a social care model in mind, with individual households; each is home to a small community of just 16 residents with shared spaces. The dining room of each home opens out to an adjacent terrace area for alfresco dining in the warmer months.
Over 22% of the electricity requirement of each home is generated by solar panels. The heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems can exhaust indoor air at a rapid rate, instantly bringing in clean, fresh air when required.
