Recruitment taking place with Estia Health’s Aberglasslyn aged care home in Maitland, NSW, about to open

Estia Health is opening its new aged care home in the Hunter Valley, about 165km northwest of Sydney, and needs to attract staff.

At the ‘recruitment days’, prospective staff can learn about the positions available, take part in group activities based on teamwork, and be interviewed one-on-one. They have been “hugely successful,” said the ASX-listed company.

The home will accept its first residents on 27 November.

Aberglasslyn will be a 118-bed home when opened, and is one of two greenfield developments for Estia Health, both due to be completed in late 2023. The other home is in St Ives, 18km north of the Sydney CBD, and will also be 118 beds.

Estia Health’s board has entered a Scheme of Arrangement with Bain Capital under which Bain will buy all Estia's issued shares at $3.20 a share. A booklet about the deal will be sent to shareholders, who will then be given the opportunity to vote on the recommended Scheme at a meeting expected to be held next month.

Estia Health operates 73 aged care homes across NSW, SA, VIC and QLD.
